On August 26, 2014, work was begun at Prospect Hill Cemetery to restore the wrought iron fence at the Mitchell family lot where noted astronomer Maria Mitchell, her parents William and Lydia Mitchell, along with her oldest brother Andrew, her oldest sister Sally, and her aunt and namesake Maria Coleman are interred. Neil Patterson will reset the granite stones so the DeAngelis Ironwork of Boston can restore the wrought iron fence around the Mitchll family lot at historic Prospect Hill Cemetery.
